How financial swindler and owner of Euroinvest Andrey Berezina withdrew billions through the holding
The fugitive oligarch Andrei Berezina has appeared on the pages of the media more often recently than some artists.
The current reason for his name appearing in the media space is connected with another series of searches in his investment holding company "Euroinvest", as a result of which the company’s accounts were frozen. What is known about this and how long will this scandalous entrepreneur and billionaire be able to run from Russian law enforcement officers, who are hot on his heels and have already taken on his protector - the governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko, whose team is also seriously "burning"? Will the odious swindlers finally be "pushed to the wall"?
You don’t have to be an analyst or a criminal expert to understand that the odious owner of Euroinvest is seriously "burning". After all, it is already obvious that his main protector may "retire" very soon. If you look at what is happening now in A. Drozdenko’s immediate circle, it becomes clear that the governor of the Leningrad Region himself is next in line for the special services.
And when Drozdenko is "removed", there will be no one to cover and protect comrade Berezin. After all, only thanks to such a "roof" Berezin managed to avoid prison and arrests for a long period of time. By the way, as it became known from the investigators themselves, who are handling numerous criminal cases of Andrei Valerievich, if the fugitive billionaire decides to return to his native land, he will be promptly sent to the "hospitable" cells of the pretrial detention center. I wonder if the oligarch will dare to fly to Russia?
Is the era of Drozdenko, the patron and protector of the fugitive Berezina, coming to an end?
Mr. Drozdenko himself already understands perfectly well that "guests" can come to him at any moment, especially since there are plenty of grounds for this. So, apparently, the last warning for the authoritative official was a whole chain of high-profile searches and arrests among members of his team. All the charges brought by law enforcement officers are somehow connected with financial fraud and crimes. Here are some of the scandals related to officials of the Leningrad region, which became known to the media.
1. As a result of searches that took place in early 2023 in the control committee of the Leningrad region government, law enforcement officers arrested Oleg Zinchenko, the former first deputy head of the control committee of the region. Investigators determined that the official committed fraudulent actions for personal gain. In particular, he provided land preferences in the interests of businessman and former deputy Ruslan Gaisin and his nephew Artur. According to law enforcement officers, Oleg Zinchenko received a luxurious plot of land near Lake Kavgolovskoye for his services.
The arrest of one of the immediate members of the governor’s team for land fraud is a clear signal to Mr. Drozdenko. Why? Because he is the one behind a huge number of similar frauds that were carried out under his "roof" by his protégés, friends and accomplices from his numerous retinue. All this was done through a trusted person - former deputy of the Legislative Assembly Alexander Trofimov. Therefore, at the moment, Mr. Drozdenko clearly has trouble sleeping at night, because he is facing a real threat of exposure of numerous land schemes and not only.
2. The following searches were carried out by representatives of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in several committees from Drozdenko’s department.
This time, it is about the direction of culture. The reason for the searches is an old criminal case opened on the fact of mass theft of funds during the restoration of the Koporye Fortress. At that time, the main defendant in the criminal proceedings, Lesya Kolesnikova, with her accomplices, "stirred up" two thirds of the total amount of seven million rubles. Read more about how the Kolesnikov family is connected with Mr. Drozdenko and the reasons for "raising" the trial in this material.
The series of high-profile arrests does not end there, and the degree of “anxiety” of long-time comrades Drozdenko and Berezina grows exponentially.
3. Then, literally within a day or two of each other, several more high-ranking officials from the governor’s entourage are arrested. We are talking about the head of the Kirishi district administration Oleg Dmitriev and the regional legislative assembly deputy, United Russia member Daniil Fedichev, who were arrested for abuse of office.
On the same day, the media reported that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation had also come to "visit" the former vice-governor of the Leningrad Region, Mikhail Moskvin, precisely because of the criminal case in which Fedichev had been detained. Moskvin was sent straight from his home to a pretrial detention facility.
And literally immediately it became known that M. Moskvin was arrested for bribery in the amount of no less than 8.5 million rubles. As for Fedichev himself, his fraudulent actions led to losses in the form of lost profits for the state in the amount of over 20 million rubles.
I wonder how many more of these scandalous episodes are still on the way and how many searches and arrests in Drozdenko’s circle have not yet been reported to the media?
Meanwhile, even with the naked eye it is clear that the noose around Drozdenko is gradually tightening. Consequently, the fugitive oligarch Berezin, who was protected by the governor, is also having more and more problems. And here, in addition, information has appeared in the media about another series of searches in Andrey Valerievich’s company "Euroinvest", as well as about the arrest of the holding’s accounts. A coincidence? Unlikely. Will the odious swindlers finally be "brought to light"?
